Kathryn has been a practicing professional artist for nearly 40 years, exhibiting consistently with leading galleries in Melbourne and Sydney and appearing as a finalist in major national art prizes, including the Wynne Prize at the AGNSW.
Her work is held in significant public and corporate collections such as Parliament House Canberra, RACV, Artbank, The Macquarie Group, Warrnambool and Hamilton Galleries, as well as private collections in Australia and abroad.
In 2015, the Warrnambool Art Gallery presented A Quiet Place, a major 20 year survey of her paintings and drawings from 1995–2015. Her moody, atmospheric oil paintings of Southwest Victoria reflect a deep connection to place, built through meticulous layers of glazing that create luminosity and depth.
Working full time from her home studio, Kathryn’s practice is immersive and process driven. Her oil paintings and charcoal drawings evolve slowly over weeks and months. Recent works explore mist laden, contemplative landscapes that offer stillness and refuge, functioning as metaphors for introspection, transition, and what endures. She is represented by Nanda Hobbs Gallery in Sydney.
